About the Role
Provides comprehensive nursing care by assessing, planning, delegating, implementing, and evaluating patient treatment, serving as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment. Educates patients and families on health promotion and disease management using available resources. Administers medications safely, utilizing knowledge of pharmacology in accordance with policies. Ensures effective resource utilization, including staffing, supplies, and time management. Maintains compliance with nursing standards, regulations, and policies.
Supports shared governance through participation in unit councils, improvement initiatives, and peer reviews. Engages in ongoing professional development, incorporates current evidence and research into practice, and fosters a learning environment for new staff and students. Performs duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator roles as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; BSc in Nursing preferred.
- Previous clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care is desirable.
- Current NYS RN license or valid NYS Limited Permit required.
- Professional certification in a nursing specialty and relevant skills certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) are preferred.
