UC San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is expanding its professional educational programs, cutting‑edge research, and pharmacy services. Research areas for this position include drug development, drug discovery, pharmacology in disease models, toxicology, drug delivery, and pharmacy practices such as pharmacoeconomics, pharmacogenomics, and health systems. Under supervision, the Staff Research Associate I assists senior researchers with preparing samples for cell sorting and selection of nanobody binders on the cell surface of mammalian or other cell types. The laboratory has protocols for sorting bacteria, yeast, and mammalian cells and for analyzing binding affinities and specificities of surface‑expressed antibodies using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and cell analyzer.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior researchers with preparing samples for cell sorting and selection of nanobody binders selected on the cell surface of mammalian or other cell types.
- Perform sorting of bacteria, yeast, and mammalian cells.
- Analyze binding affinities and specificities of surface‑expressed antibodies using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and cell analyzer.
Requirements
- Theoretical knowledge of chemistry or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform basic analytical chemistry lab experiments, including preparation of solutions and reagents according to project needs.
