Staff Research Assistant
Dr. Hayes's laboratory (https://hayes-lab.github.io) in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Staff Research Assistant to support research projects studying the neuro-immune mechanisms in brain health and disease across the lifespan.
About the role
Research in the Hayes Lab focuses on how developmental immune stressors lead to changes in brain development and risk for neurodevelopmental disorders. We're a new group committed to fostering inclusivity in STEM. This position is ideal for individuals interested in applying for graduate school who need laboratory experience, or those seeking a long-term laboratory role with potential for career advancement. The candidate will have opportunities to contribute to multiple research projects and publish research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in mouse colony maintenance
- Perform experiments
- Collect, manage, and analyze data
- Contribute to team science and research projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related discipline aligned with the specific area of research or project focus)
- 1 year of experience supporting research or working in a laboratory setting
- Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education and related experience can be considered in lieu of a degree (one-to-one ratio)

Pay
Targeted pay range of $33,600 - $43,700 depending on education and experience.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, standard/fixed schedule.
Hiring contingent upon a background check. Position subject to renewal based on availability of funds.
