What will you be doing?
- Leading electrical design activities for new surgical robotic products from concept through production and launch
- Acting as a technical lead on design teams, working independently while mentoring and supporting other engineers
- Developing electrical system architectures and mixed signal PCBA designs including schematics, component selection and PCB layout
- Performing board bring up, functional testing, troubleshooting and root cause analysis on complex embedded systems
- Designing, assembling and testing prototypes and evaluating performance against requirements and specifications
- Developing and executing test plans to support design verification and validation
- Leading and contributing to design reviews, providing technical insight to drive quality and compliance
- Collaborating closely with electrical, firmware, software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, systems and regulatory partners
- Ensuring design documentation and processes comply with quality system and regulatory requirements
What will you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 8 or more years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 or more years of experience
- Strong hands on experience designing mixed signal PCBA schematics and layouts using ECAD tools such as Altium
- Proven experience with embedded systems, 32 bit microcontrollers, board bring up and debugging real time applications
- Solid understanding of communication protocols including SPI, I2C, USB, TCP IP and EtherCAT
- Experience integrating sensors, motors and computing technologies into complex electrical systems
- Background in EMC EMI compliant design and applying DFM DFT principles
- Experience working in a regulated environment such as medical devices is highly valued
