Staff Psychiatrist - Inpatient

About the role

Alameda Health System is a full-service county hospital in San Leandro, CA, offering a complete array of patient-centered health care services. Since 2007, the system has partnered to provide a full range of psychiatric services including inpatient, consult liaison, psychiatric emergency services, and outpatient behavioral health. The inpatient unit is a 69‑bed hospital serving adults only, with support staff that includes social workers, RNs, and occupational therapists. The East Bay area offers a vibrant music scene with venues ranging from Oracle Arena to intimate theaters.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard psychiatric exams and medication management
• See patients daily and remain onsite for the duration of the shift
• Lead treatment teams and make optimal therapeutic and disposition decisions for JGPH patients
• Attend monthly (or as needed) departmental meetings
• Follow all medical staff bylaws and regulations
• Complete admission notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner

Requirements

• Board certified (board eligible for new graduates)
• Current California medical license
• Active DEA registration

Pay

$206.00 per hour for W‑2 employees

Schedule

• Monday‑Friday: 8 AM – 4 PM
• Saturday‑Sunday: 8 AM – 6 PM
• Weekend and vacation coverage required
