About the Role
This is a Staff Psychiatrist, CF (SAFETY) position located at Ironwood State Prison (ISP) in Blythe, CA, Riverside County. This is a limited-term position which may be extended or become permanent.
Under the general direction of the Senior Psychiatrist (Sup), the Psychiatrist in Mental Health Services is a member of an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team providing general population outpatient services to inmates. The team includes other psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric social workers assigned to a Service Area.
Responsibilities
- Perform psychiatric evaluations and participate in treatment planning and case reviews.
- Prescribe medications and provide crisis intervention and psychotherapy.
- Provide consultations and training in treatment approaches to both clinical and custody staff of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.
Pay
The authorized Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) rates for this classification are: P $30,259.00, Q $31,136.00 per month.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces the base salary of full-time employees by 4.62% and provides 8 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis.
Effective July 1, 2023, employees in this class who provide direct in-person patient care more than 50% of the pay period receive a 15% pay differential of their monthly base pay.
Eligible employees may receive a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend after six months of employment, as well as a monthly recruitment and retention differential totaling $5,000 during their first year.
CDCR and CCHCS employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus if the selected candidate remains employed for 90 days.
