About the role

The Staff Product Marketing Manager will lead the development of strategic positioning and messaging for Proofpoint's data security portfolio, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), Insider Threat Management (ITM), and data security for AI. They will shape the narrative for helping customers prevent data loss, reduce insider risk, support compliance, and enable secure productivity across endpoints, email, SaaS applications, and cloud environments. This role involves working cross-functionally with product, sales, channel, and demand teams to drive awareness, pipeline, and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic positioning and messaging for Proofpoint's data security portfolio, including DLP, DSPM, ITM, and data security for AI, anchored in customer needs around data protection, compliance, and secure productivity.
  • Own GTM strategy and launch planning for new data security capabilities, partnering with product, sales, channel, and demand teams to drive awareness, pipeline, and adoption.
  • Create high-impact content across solution briefs, web pages, presentations, webinars, demo scripts, blogs, and customer-facing materials.
  • Build sales and partner enablement, including playbooks, battlecards, objection handling, discovery questions, competitive guidance, and talk tracks.
  • Track market, buyer, and competitive trends across DLP, insider risk, cloud data security, and adjacent data protection categories.
  • Serve as a data security subject matter expert in sales trainings, customer briefings, field events, analyst conversations, webinars, and executive presentations.
  • Partner with product and field teams to translate customer insights, use cases, and adoption patterns into sharper messaging, stronger launches, and more effective GTM.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in product marketing for cybersecurity, data security, DLP, DSPM, insider risk, email security, endpoint security, cloud security, or related enterprise software.
  • Strong understanding of data security use cases across DLP, DSPM, ITM, endpoint, email, cloud, SaaS applications, AI tools, data classification, policy management, compliance, and incident response.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear, customer-centric messaging for security, risk, compliance, IT, and executive audiences.
  • Experience leading GTM strategy, launches, sales enablement, and campaign planning for enterprise security solutions.
  • Strong market and competitive analysis skills, with the ability to turn insights into positioning, sales guidance, and product feedback.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across executive briefings, analyst conversations, webinars, customer meetings, and industry events.
  • Collaborative, analytical, and execution-focused, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive measurable business impact.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a technical concentration or MBA is a plus.
