About the role
UnitedMasters is building a marketplace that connects artists, brands, and fans, empowering artists to earn and grow. This role is based in San Francisco with four days in-office and one day remote.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy for a major area of the business, defining and championing a multi-quarter, unified product vision and roadmap that supports all of our artists: early-stage artists, artists gaining traction, and independent labels.
- Pioneer AI-powered artist experiences, identifying, prototyping, and shipping AI-driven features that create step-change value for creators and labels, such as intelligent release and audience-growth tooling, earnings insights, and creative assistance.
- Raise the bar on team velocity with AI, championing the adoption of AI tools to accelerate how the product org works, using rapid prototyping, AI-assisted research synthesis, reusable AI skills and workflows, and internal agents to compress the path from idea to validated concept to shipped feature.
- Synthesize signal across all segments, continuously collecting and synthesizing artist feedback through research, interviews, product analytics, and our artist-facing teams leveraging AI to accelerate and deepen that synthesis, translating these insights into clear product requirements and roadmap priorities that increase adoption, satisfaction, and long-term retention.
- Own the competitive and technology landscape, staying deeply informed about the competitive landscape and the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem, understanding how other platforms work and identifying opportunities for UnitedMasters to stand out and deliver more value to creators and labels.
- Master the end-to-end artist experience, developing a deep understanding of the full artist journey, from onboarding and releasing new music to reviewing performance and earnings, ensuring every step is intuitive, reliable, and delightful.
- Drive cross-functional execution, collaborating with teams who work directly with artists and labels every day to ensure our tools, features, and support deliver maximum value and help artists succeed.
- Set the quality bar, upholding and elevating a high bar of quality across the team, ensuring that everything we launch will delight artists, be easy to use, and attract and retain independent artists and labels.
Requirements
- Proven ability to translate big, ambiguous, company-defining problems with many stakeholders into clear strategies and executable plans.
- You connect features directly to desired outcomes and key results to ensure we build the highest-impact work that ladders up to company-wide goals.
- You prioritize ruthlessly and know how to make tradeoffs between speed, scale, and cost.
- You break down large problems into smaller iterative milestones with clear success criteria that gate future phases of work, ensuring we don’t make over-sized investments relative to the value they deliver.
- You are fluent with AI tools and demonstrate strong judgment about when and how to apply them both to ship artist-facing features and to drive your own and your team’s productivity.
- You have hands-on experience building prototypes and proofs-of-concept with AI tooling, allowing you to validate ideas quickly and de-risk investments before committing engineering resources.
- Expertise in translating artist and stakeholder needs into clear, concise product requirements, and managing workflow (ideally using JIRA/Confluence).
- You operate as a multiplier, mentoring other PMs, setting standards, and lifting the quality of work around you.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in product management, launching high-impact features from start to finish.
- At least 3 years operating at a senior/lead level on a top-tier product team, ideally with a user base of independent creators or small business owners.
