About the Role
We are seeking a highly technical Staff Product Designer to join our Product Design team. You will design complex AI-powered cyber risk workflows spanning third-party risk assessments, automated security questionnaires, and continuous monitoring. Deep expertise in B2B SaaS UX paradigms — dense data, complex permissioning, multi-tenant workflows — is required. You must have hands-on experience leveraging AI (e.g., Claude) across all design phases: grounding interactive prototypes directly in our codebase and design system, building and scrapping fast, and communicating design intent through prompting. This role follows a hybrid model: employees within 75 miles of our Midtown NYC or Downtown Austin offices work onsite 1–2 days per week; those outside that radius are eligible for fully remote work.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design of deeply technical AI-enabled workflows: third-party vendor risk assessments, automated security questionnaires, continuous monitoring.
- Run usability tests, synthesize behavioral and product analytics (FullStory, Pendo), and fold findings into design iterations.
- Systematically design for enterprise B2B paradigms — role-based access control, multi-tenant environments, complex data-filtering — treating them as design material.
- Work directly against our codebase and design system using AI (Claude) to produce interactive prototypes anchored in real product behavior.
- Leverage AI to synthesize research, rapidly visualize concepts, explore edge cases, and validate functional prototypes, compressing iteration cycles without lowering craft.
- Contribute to the design system for durable, machine-readable patterns that enable AI prototyping at scale, with accessibility (WCAG 2.2) as default.
- Raise the team’s AI fluency through collaborative prototyping workshops and shared AI techniques.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to turn ambiguous briefs into defensible solutions; push back with evidence when the brief is wrong.
Requirements
- 7+ years product design experience, with 3+ years designing B2B SaaS experiences in a platform environment (B2C background does not translate).
- Proven portfolio demonstrating strong handling of high-complexity UI challenges: multi-dimensional data, analytics dashboarding, permissions management, deep system nesting, plus a track record of turning ambiguous problems into shipped work without heavy oversight.
- Demonstrated, hands-on use of AI in your design practice — prompting tools like Claude to build interactive prototypes in code grounded in an existing codebase and design system. Be prepared to show what you built, how you prompted it, and what it changed. General familiarity with AI tools is not sufficient.
- Experience working with and contributing to design systems.
- Strong fluency with Figma and AI-assisted design tooling.
- Clear understanding of cognitive load, decision-making frameworks, and designing interfaces that reduce user error in high-stakes security environments.
- Hands-on experience integrating usability testing, product analytics, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) into your process by default.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cybersecurity, Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), or Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).
- Experience designing AI-enabled features that earn user trust, fail gracefully when the model is wrong, and keep users in control.
- Hands-on front-end capability beyond prototyping: you have written HTML, CSS, and component code that shipped, and can contribute to a design system in the repo, not just in Figma.
Who You Are
- You hold a high craft bar and are motivated by getting things right, not just done.
- You have a growth mindset: actively seek and incorporate feedback, and know how to give it.
- You care about the people around you and are committed to elevating teammates — no “rockstar” mentality.
- You lead with humility: confident in your craft, secure enough to stay open, curious, and collaborative.
- You move fast between prototypes, continually iterating using AI to validate ideas.
Benefits & Compensation
Estimated total compensation range: $180,000 – $250,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation varies based on affordability, skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits (specific to each country) include competitive salary, stock options, health benefits, unlimited PTO, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and more.
Schedule
Hybrid work model: employees within 75 miles of the Midtown NYC or Downtown Austin office work onsite 1–2 days per week; employees outside that radius are eligible for fully remote work.
