Staff Product Data Scientist, Infrastructure

Job Summary

The Product Data Science team at Waymo is seeking a skilled individual to join our efforts in expanding our service to larger territories and multiple cities. This role involves building and maintaining data science models to support infrastructure decisions, designing quantitative measurement frameworks, and collaborating with Supply Operations partners.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data science models to help make data-driven infrastructure decisions
• Design and implement quantitative measurement frameworks to assess the efficiency of our infrastructure footprint and identify areas for improvement
• Collaborate with XFN partners on Supply Operations to ensure we consider the relevant business and product context alongside the model output to make the best decisions for Waymo

Requirements

• Solid background and applied work experience in operations research, optimization, or supply chain
• Master’s degree in a highly quantitative field (e.g., Operations Research, Optimization, Supply Chain, or a related discipline)
• Preferred: Ph.D. in Operations Research, Optimization, Supply Chain, or a related quantitative field

Qualifications

• Experience with data analysis and modeling
• Strong understanding of operations research and optimization techniques
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Excellent communication skills

Pay

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is $230,000—$284,000 USD. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule.
