Staff Physician - Pediatric Hospitalist

About the role
Penn State Health Children’s Hospital Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is recruiting a Pediatric Hospitalist to join a division of 16 faculty physicians and 6 NP/PAs. The role provides inpatient and consultation care at Penn State Health Children's Hospital, the only academic children's hospital in the region, with access to a full array of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty consultation and support.
Primary clinical responsibilities are at the Children’s Hospital, a tertiary referral center serving a large geographic area with diverse patient populations and a wide range of medical conditions. The hospital is the primary pediatric training site for Penn State College of Medicine, offering multiple teaching opportunities as you lead a team of advanced practice providers, pediatric residents, medical students, and other learners.
Excellent leadership opportunities are available, with division members currently or recently serving in roles such as residency program directors, associate residency program directors, unit medical directors, and Vice Chair of Education.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and consultation care for hospitalized children.
- Lead and teach a diverse team of advanced practice providers, pediatric residents, medical students, and other learners.
- Engage in quality improvement, education, and research initiatives within the division.
Requirements
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalent.
- Ability to acquire a license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in General Pediatrics; Pediatric Hospital Medicine preferred.
