About the role

As a Staff Physician with ICE Health Service Corps, you will practice mission-focused medicine as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service. Your role involves providing comprehensive primary and urgent care to individuals in federal custody while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary federal healthcare system.

Responsibilities

  • Practice meaningful medicine with purpose - provide essential care to a medically diverse and underserved population.

  • Lead and innovate - contribute to clinical initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and the advancement of detention healthcare within a national system.

Requirements

  • Current Medical License in good standing with the state(s) of practice.
  • Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or a related field.
  • Experience in providing care to medically underserved populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Completed residency training in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or a related field.
  • Passing score on the USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX Level 3.
  • Current Medical License in good standing with the state(s) of practice.

Skills

  • Strong clinical skills in internal medicine, pediatrics, or family medicine.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of public health principles and practices.
