About the role
Mercy Care is seeking a Staff Physician (MD/DO) to join their primary care clinics, specifically the Decatur Street and Chamblee clinics, which offer bilingual services (English/Spanish proficiency strongly preferred for the Chamblee Clinic).
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to a diverse population, primarily adults and geriatric patients, with occasional pediatric cases.
- Supervise and consult with mid-level providers and clinical staff.
- Ensure compliance with medical protocols, pharmacy and radiology procedures, and regulatory standards including CLIA, HIPAA, PCER, and OSHA.
- Conduct medical chart and lab reviews, and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
- Share on-call coverage responsibilities.
- Represent Mercy Care at community health fairs and events 3–4 times annually.
Requirements
- Graduate of a state-approved Medical School.
- Board Certification in a medical specialty.
- Current Georgia medical license and DEA registration.
- Proven experience working with medically underserved populations.
- Strong supervisory skills and ability to work with diverse patient backgrounds.
- Knowledge of mid-level provider roles, especially nurse practitioners.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
