Staff Pharmacist Per Diem
About the role
As a per diem, non-exempt Clinical Staff Pharmacist at St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain the security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy, and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
- Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
- Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities, ensuring compliance with USP and hospital standards
- Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
- Aid in hospital clinical activities including but not limited to patient treatment teams, patient medication education groups, and medication monitoring
Required Qualifications
- Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; Current Missouri Pharmacist license in good standing
- 1+ years of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting
Preferred Qualifications
- PharmD
- Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency program required, psychiatric focus
- BCPP certification or working toward the exam upon hire
Pay and Benefits
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.09 to $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
