About the Role

We are seeking a self-motivated and driven innovator who is willing to push the boundaries to build state-of-the-art Electronic Control Units (ECUs) for automotive applications. This individual will be responsible for high-speed or power PCB design for ECUs, including critical systems such as zonals, infotainment, Vehicle-Access, and ADAS systems. The role requires the candidate to be well-versed with PCB layout design, PI-SI, Power, and high-speed signal routing. This position is highly cross-functional and may include occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-speed and mixed-signal PCB layout designs to automotive standards.
  • Drive and own PCB designs for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), BMS (Battery Management Systems), Body systems, and Infotainment Systems, including HDI (High-Density Interconnect) design practices, high-speed (DDR4, PCIe, CSI, LVDS), HV, and Mixed-Signal design.
  • Improve package designs by addressing space-constraint challenges while balancing performance trade-offs.
  • Build and maintain our component library and be responsible for its integrity.
  • Improve and optimize durability and performance for automotive designs.
  • Work with our contract manufacturer to develop design rules for manufacturing and implement DFM feedback, ensuring designs are manufacturable and produced to a high standard.
  • Contribute to overall process and workflow development between engineering and design.
  • Configure ECAD tools to align with the overall Rivian VW technology design and release process.
  • Think holistically to understand the impact of plans or decisions on the program and customers.
  • Deep dive into technical issues to drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in PCB Layout design.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Altium Designer; Cadence proficiency is a plus.
  • High Density (HDI), DDR4/PCIe, signal and power integrity design experience.
  • Full life cycle development from layout to manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a high-speed environment with short development times.
  • Experience defining and developing processes related to PCB design.
  • Up to date on the latest manufacturing techniques.
  • Demonstrated strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive base salary, full-time positions may be eligible to participate in our annual company performance bonus program. Payments are discretionary and depend on company results and the terms of the plan in effect. This role is also eligible for equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), subject to board approval and vesting requirements.

We invest in our people with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support health, wellbeing, and financial future for full-time employees — including health coverage, retirement savings, time off, and family planning programs. Offerings vary by country.

Pay

Compensation range: $167,400 - $230,000.
