Staff Officer

About the Role
SAIC is seeking a Staff Officer to join SAIC’s Prime SETA program supporting the NRO’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED) in Chantilly, VA. The role supports the Directorate front office, assisting the Chief of Staff, Executive, and SES-level Directors by shaping messaging for external visitors, Directorate and SPO engagements, and the workforce. You will assess TIER action items, provide input for reviews such as the Program Status Review and Quarterly Performance Review, draft all-hands talking points, and contribute to processes like travel coordination, promotions, retirements, and Program Management reviews.
You will directly support the front office of an acquisition organization comprising several hundred government, contractor, and FFRDC team members, providing acquisition and technical input to ongoing and future development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic resource for day-to-day client needs.
- Communicate action item progress to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Advise the Chief of Staff, Directorate Executive, and front office members on a wide variety of initiatives.
- Provide expert guidance on strategy coordination across programs and teams.
- Lead customer optimization initiatives to achieve Directorate objectives.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to implement recommendations.
- Engage in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Assess stakeholder objectives and priorities, ensuring alignment with Directorate National-level strategies.
- Develop and monitor metrics frameworks.
- Demonstrate thought leadership for Directorate initiatives.
- Develop innovative approaches to streamline recurring strategic plan reviews, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of the latest software development and acquisition trends.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) or more years of experience in business/marketing, computer science, engineering, or a cyber-related field; or Master’s degree and seven (7) or more years of experience; or PhD or JD and four (4) or more years of experience.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
- Experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC).
- Foundational understanding of space systems architecture, satellite operations, and ground segment mission support.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and drive mission outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, briefing, and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated success working across diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, dynamic mission environments.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and a demonstrated aptitude for on-site SETA support.
- Prior experience as a Chief of Staff or Executive Officer is highly desirable.
Pay
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
