Role Overview
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and directing family-centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
- Exhibit leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including staff education and precepting new employees.
- Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with provider staff to promote team-based, efficient, and high-quality pediatric care and customer service.
- Utilize informatics and technology systems effectively, with flexibility to be assigned to different areas as needed.
- Perform system-based practices and other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with healthcare environments and proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate staff, ensuring quality patient care.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or to be obtained within 5 years.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Valid, active Ohio RN license (Multistate License required within 90 days for certain departments).
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
