Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not-for-profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. The system includes approximately 15,000 team members and over 90 physician practices across an 18-county service area. McLeod Health operates seven hospitals, three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice, and Home Health Services, with a total of 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of assigned patients through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data.
• Provide appropriate age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice.
• Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
• Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff.
• Apply standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
• Contribute to department performance by precepting and mentoring novice employees.
• Support department growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives and evidence-based practices.
• Demonstrate continued professional growth by setting goals and participating in educational offerings.
• Float to assist in other like units as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (AHA certification only).
• Registered Nurse licensure.
• Advanced resuscitative certification appropriate to population if serving in a charge nurse role.
