Staff Nurse- Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU)
30-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit specializing in emergency neurological conditions, including hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, transient ischemic attacks, traumatic brain injuries, seizures, and other neurological emergencies. The team comprises neurologists, neurosurgeons, and specially trained nurses providing 24/7 monitoring, expert diagnosis, and swift neurologic intervention.
About the role
The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, delegates, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with the professional practice model. This role plays a critical role in staff engagement, patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide direct patient care and supportive services to achieve positive patient care outcomes.
- Maximize patient involvement in their own plan of care and reduce hospitalization length.
- Direct and supervise nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team.
- Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care of patients.
Requirements
- Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited nursing program.
- Current Ohio nursing license or interim permit.
- Experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
Schedule
- 36 scheduled hours per week.
- Rotating shift.
