Staff Nurse - Med/Surg Cardiology Intermediate Care Unit - 60%, Weekend Option Days

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing theory to assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate patient responses to health and illness.
• Achieves expected outcomes by implementing a patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions.
• Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response.
• Coordinates transfer/discharge planning throughout the episode of care.
• Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe environment.
• Follows universal precautions.

Requirements

• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa by date of hire.
• At least 12 months experience on a telemetry inpatient unit.
• Knowledge of University policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.
• Active enrollment in a BSN program if a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained.
• Previous telemetry experience is desired.
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing is highly desired.

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
• General computer skills.

Pay

• $61,183 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate *This does not include differentials.* Salary will vary based on years of experience and percent of effort.

Schedule

• Weekend option, Saturday and Sunday 0700-1930.

• Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa.
