Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) II is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.
About the Role
Provides care through the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, environment, and instrumentation. Assesses patients systematically, prioritizing care based on their needs and available resources. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team and patients/families. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in various settings.
Responsibilities
- Performs systematic assessments and data collection
- Formulates goal-directed plans of care
- Implements care consistently and continuously
- Establishes priorities for patient care
- Identifies and meets patient/family learning needs
- Communicates effectively with healthcare team and patients/families
- Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided
- Delegates tasks appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members
- Participates in staff development activities
- Participates in performance improvement activities
- Participates in nursing research activities
- Solves problems effectively
- Provides data for staffing decisions
- Documents patient care and unit activities accurately and promptly
Requirements
- Three years of experience as a Staff Nurse
- Demonstrated certifications and competency in assigned units
- High School Diploma/GED or Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Basic Life Support certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
- Completion of clinical experience hours as specified
- 2000 hours of RN experience in clinical area of specialty within three years of graduation
- Currently enrolled in an accredited entry-level MSN program with pre-licensure requirements completed
