Staff Nurse

About the role

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking Registered Mental Health Nurses to join their Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient units. The positions are permanent and available on various wards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred care, evidence-based, recovery-focused interventions
• Work collaboratively with patients and the wider team and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)
• Function as a Named Nurse and coordinate the care of assigned patients
• Escalate concerns to appropriate personnel, including medical staff, DCNs, or SCNs
• Ensure personal adherence with relevant legislation, such as the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, Criminal Procedures (Scotland) Act 1995, and Adult Support and Protection Act

Requirements

• First level Registered Mental Health Nursing qualification and current registration with the NMC
• Current evidence of continuing professional development

Qualifications

Applicants must have a genuine interest in working with older adults with a variety of mental health problems and possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. They should also have a positive attitude and proven ability to work as part of a team.

Pay

The pay for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.

Schedule

The schedule for the positions varies depending on the ward:

• Ward 3: 1 full-time post - 72 hours (7 shifts) per fortnight
• Dunure Ward: 2 full-time posts - 72 hours (7 shifts) per fortnight
• Clonbeith Ward: 1 full-time post - 72 hours (7 shifts) per fortnight

UK Driving Licence

A full UK driving licence is not required for this role.
