About the Role
A clinical competent registered professional nurse who delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care for patients across the health system. Effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and the healthcare team while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Responsibilities
- Recognize and provide appropriate intervention to medically unstable patients, ranging from infancy to geriatrics.
- Safely and accurately administer medications within the scope of RN practice.
- Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures on the nursing unit.
- Formulate nursing care plans.
- Document and communicate pertinent information regarding patient condition.
- Provide direction and supervision to LPNs, POCTs, and other ancillary staff.
- Monitor and ensure the accurate and timely completion of physician orders.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge of equipment and procedures/treatments used in med/surg patient care.
- Maintain patient safety, including identifying fall risks and following fall risk protocol.
Requirements
- Current R.N. licensure for Ohio (must maintain).
- Current CPR card and BLS certification (must maintain).
- Obtain/maintain telemetry with medications certification within one year of hire.
- Ability to work independently.
LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, which may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
