Staff, ML Engineer - Scene Generation

About the role

This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Scene Generation team, making key design decisions and fostering consensus
• Set the technical vision and roadmap for Neural Rendering and generative modeling aligned with AV 3.0 strategy
• Prioritize daily tasks, unblock engineers, and finalize architectural approaches
• Translate research into scalable, production-quality sensor simulation
• Manage the end-to-end development of the neural rendering framework, from design to deployment
• Automate the integration pipeline for verification and validation in a cloud environment
• Mentor team members and play a role in hiring and career development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering plus relevant experience, or PhD with less experience required
• 10+ years of experience with a track record in production software and technical leadership
• Expertise in Neural Rendering and generative models such as Diffusion Models
• Experience with multimodal autonomous driving sensor data handling, including camera, LiDAR, and radar
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks, especially PyTorch
• Experience with cloud-based machine learning development environments and VDI
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead technical teams effectively

Pay

$249,600 – $299,500 annually
