Staff Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical

About the role

The Staff Mechanical Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across a variety of sectors, including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. The role involves collaborating with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting mechanical plans to meet budget constraints, design factors, or client needs. Responsibilities include performing mechanical design from conceptual phase through completion, modifying and reviewing production drawings, and designing mechanical components to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
• Design mechanical components based on project needs and requirements set by project managers.
• Apply strong knowledge of mechanical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.
• Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
• Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD-related software.
• Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
• Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred) required, or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred) required, or
• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred) required.

• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D rendering programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.

Pay

$115,000.00–$180,000.00 yearly. The expected compensation range is based on factors including individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility to participate in a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
