What You'll Do

  • Develop expertise in manufacturing processes, analyze critical data, and understand equipment capabilities.
  • Modify line layouts using Lean Manufacturing best practices to optimize material flow, waste reduction, and ergonomics.
  • Participate in the transition of products from concept to mass manufacturing / scale up and launch experience.
  • Optimize production equipment to maximize safety and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), driving world-class quality levels.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to increase yield, capacity, and capability.
  • Design new tooling, fixtures, assembly aids, and equipment to enhance processes and yield.
  • Conceptualize high-volume production equipment, prioritizing safety, cost, capacity, volumetric efficiency, and delivery time.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in the part manufacturing process, utilizing structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Create documentation such as BOMs, schematics, maintenance guides, and operator manuals.
  • Utilize CAD modeling and FEA structural analysis for new tooling/equipment, defining specifications and requirements.
  • Identify automation opportunities and collaborate with Automation/Control Engineers for design and implementation.
  • Provide DFM (design for manufacturability) input to design team for process and yield improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians in complex projects and technical tasks.
  • Support 24/7 production operations as needed.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience as a hands-on mechanical/manufacturing/design engineer working on mechanical and/electromechanically systems.
  • Experience in OSHA automation equipment safety standards.
  • Experience commissioning equipment from concept phase through ramp to sustaining.
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical design software for practical applications, i.e., Solidworks, AutoCAD, CATIA, EPlan etc.
  • Experience providing Design for Manufacturability and Automation; Allen Bradley, Siemens and/or Beckhoff PLC platforms; Robots, specifically Fanuc; Ignition/ SCADA data systems.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability and flexibility to support a highly automated line as well as a manual general assembly line.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
