The Staff LPN Ambulatory is responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider in an ambulatory care setting. All responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with applicable state regulations. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing services to patients under the supervision of a physician or other licensed provider within the scope of practice for the LPN.
• Follows HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, Medication Management, and Infection Prevention procedures for cleaning and sterilization of equipment and/or instruments.
• Performs clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point of care testing, and medication administration. Assists with medical office procedures.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history, and maintains accurate and prompt charting in the patient's record.
• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients, and present relevant information to provider with correct medical terminology.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Nursing Experience: No experience required
• Supervisor Experience: No experience required
• Licenses & Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Associate or Trade School equivalent in Nursing
