About Our Client

The organization operates in the behavioral healthcare sector, addressing the significant challenge of limited access to personalized mental health, substance use disorder, and eating disorder treatments. It focuses on expanding access through virtual, personalized care that connects clients with clinicians, care teams, loved ones, and supportive communities. The organization is rapidly growing and reaching more communities, aiming to improve outcomes for people with complex behavioral health needs.

About the Opportunity

The Staff IT Engineer role is a senior individual contributor position responsible for developing and improving the internal IT platforms that support employee lifecycle, identity management, endpoint security, SaaS integrations, automation strategies, and AI-enabled operations. This role is pivotal in shaping the technical direction and engineering practices within the IT function, enhancing system reliability, scalability, and security to support the organization's operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build, scale, and maintain secure internal platforms, software tools, and custom automations to enhance the structural reliability and execution of enterprise IT operations
  • Arcitect and establish foundational technical standards for decentralized identity governance, fine-grained access control, automated lifecycle provisioning, endpoint trust verification, and system reporting
  • Develop high-quality scripts, backend integrations, and middleware microservices utilizing Python, Bash, REST APIs, webhooks, Git version control, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Partner closely with Core Engineering, Information Security, Compliance, and business units to drive AI-driven automation initiatives, Zero Trust network architectures, and strict adherence to regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA and SOC 2 Type II
  • Implement modern DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and ITIL-aligned workflows to mature infrastructure monitoring, technical change management, incident response frameworks, and comprehensive system documentation
  • Design and audit non-human identity security configurations, ensuring system-to-system automated integrations operate with least-privilege access patterns

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive, hands-on experience in IT engineering, cloud infrastructure management, platform engineering, DevOps, or related technical disciplines
  • Highly proficient in production-grade scripting or software development using Python, Bash, or alternative modern languages
  • Extensive professional experience orchestrating complex software integrations using REST APIs, custom webhooks, structured JSON payloads, service accounts, and secure token-based API authentication protocols
  • Deep administrative and engineering expertise across industry-leading identity and endpoint management platforms, including Okta, Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace, or enterprise Microsoft 365 ecosystems
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of least-privilege access matrices, device trust frameworks, conditional access policies, non-human identity governance, system auditability, and Zero Trust security principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience engineering enterprise-wide workflows within SaaS automation or iPaaS platforms such as Workato, custom middleware, or Okta Workflows
  • Practical familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, native AWS cloud services, enterprise Linux system administration, or GitHub Actions workflow automation
  • Experience deploying or supporting internal enterprise AI platforms, LLM orchestration frameworks, AI-enabled operational automation, or internal AI tooling
  • Strong knowledge of emerging AI governance frameworks, including autonomous agent identity security, localized tool access permissions, data perimeter boundaries, human-in-the-loop validation controls, and unified prompt/response logging
  • Background operating within HIPAA-regulated healthcare organizations, digital health spaces, high-growth startups, or fast-scaling enterprise IT environments

Pay Range and Compensation Package

The target annual base salary range is $138,000.00 to $190,000.00 USD. Final base salary placement within this competitive technical range is determined individually and dynamically based on the final candidate's depth of engineering experience, platform specialization, and internal pay equity considerations. Total compensation structures may also include highly valuable company stock options and a comprehensive corporate benefits package sponsored directly by the organization.
