Staff IoT Cloud Engineer

About the Role

Define and evolve cloud platform architecture, technical standards, and engineering best practices. Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend investments that improve business and customer outcomes. Serve as a trusted technical advisor for engineering leadership and product stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, and data platforms.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure solutions align with security, reliability, performance, and cost objectives.
• Drive adoption of cloud infrastructure automation, observability, and resiliency.
• Maintain standards for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, deployment automation, and platform governance.
• Partner with mobile, embedded, QA, UX, and IT teams to deliver end-to-end customer solutions.
• Facilitate alignment between teams and help resolve complex technical and organizational challenges.
• Lead technical planning for large cross-functional initiatives.
• Build consensus around architectural direction while balancing short-term delivery and long-term maintainability.
• Mentor engineers at all levels and help develop future technical leaders.
• Provide guidance on architecture, system design, debugging, and engineering practices.
• Create opportunities for knowledge sharing and technical skill development.
• Foster a culture of technical curiosity, continuous improvement, and accountability.
