About the role

Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce. Staff iOS Developer Experience (DevXP) Engineer: We are looking for people who are passionate about building strong, sustainable, and AI-powered developer tooling for the Slack iOS app, which is used by millions of people every day. The iOS Developer Experience (DevXP) team enables feature engineers at Slack to tackle complicated problems quickly by pioneering an agentic software development lifecycle (Agentic SDLC)—where intelligent tools and autonomous workflows handle the heavy lifting so engineers don’t have to reinvent the wheel. We’re looking for engineers who specialize in iOS tooling, Bazel build systems, and integrating modern AI agents into the development pipeline through software factories, agentic automated testing, and more! As a DevXP engineer, you love building next-generation developer workflows and intelligent agents that make iOS development best-in-class at Slack. You excel in leading others and derive joy from mentoring and growing other iOS engineers in an increasingly AI-assisted landscape. You set a high bar for the technical design and code quality of your team. You demonstrate exceptional ownership of not only the area of your team, but across Slack’s entire iOS codebase. You have a “can do” demeanor and nothing is beneath you - whether it’s debugging a complex Bazel cache miss or prompting an AI agent to auto-triage a broken CI pipeline. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain complex iOS tooling from CI to CD.
  • Develop with Swift, Bazel, Python, and Xcode tools.
  • Integrate AI coding agents (like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Workspace, or custom LLM scripts) to automate PR generation, code reviews, and boilerplate refactoring.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs such as CI stability, TimeToMerge, and build time metrics, leveraging intelligent automation to proactively identify and resolve pipeline bottlenecks.
  • Work with Apple ecosystem, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools, and scripting (Python/bash/etc.).

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience building and maintaining complex iOS tooling from CI to CD.
  • Deep expertise with Swift, Bazel, Python, and Xcode tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Agentic SDLC workflows—using and integrating AI coding agents to automate PR generation, code reviews, and boilerplate refactoring.
  • Ability to monitor and improve KPIs such as CI stability, TimeToMerge, and build time metrics, leveraging intelligent automation to proactively identify and resolve pipeline bottlenecks.
  • Deep familiarity with the Apple ecosystem, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools, and scripting (Python/bash/etc.).
  • A related technical degree required.

Skills

  • Experience using Slack and a keen interest in making it better.
  • Prior experience in an iOS developer experience role.
