Staff iOS Developer Experience Engineer - Slack
About the role
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all. Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce. We are looking for people who are passionate about building strong, sustainable, and AI-powered developer tooling for the Slack iOS app, which is used by millions of people every day. The iOS Developer Experience (DevXP) team enables feature engineers at Slack to tackle complicated problems quickly by pioneering an agentic software development lifecycle (Agentic SDLC)—where intelligent tools and autonomous workflows handle the heavy lifting so engineers don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
Responsibilities
- Love building next-generation developer workflows and intelligent agents that make iOS development best-in-class at Slack.
- Excel in leading others and derive joy from mentoring and growing other iOS engineers in an increasingly AI-assisted landscape.
- Set a high bar for the technical design and code quality of your team.
- Demonstrate exceptional ownership of not only the area of your team, but across Slack’s entire iOS codebase.
- Have a “can do” demeanor and nothing is beneath you — whether it’s debugging a complex Bazel cache miss or prompting an AI agent to auto-triage a broken CI pipeline.
- Be self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments.
- Love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience building and maintaining complex iOS tooling from CI to CD.
- Deep expertise with Swift, Bazel, Python, and Xcode tools.
- Hands-on experience with Agentic SDLC workflows—using and integrating AI coding agents (like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Workspace, or custom LLM scripts) to automate PR generation, code reviews, and boilerplate refactoring.
- Ability to monitor and improve KPIs such as CI stability, TimeToMerge, and build time metrics, leveraging intelligent automation to proactively identify and resolve pipeline bottlenecks.
- Deep familiarity with the Apple ecosystem, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools, and scripting (Python/bash/etc.).
- Experience using Slack and a keen interest in making it better (bonus).
- Prior experience in an iOS developer experience role (bonus).
- A related technical degree required (bonus).
