Staff Industrial Engineer

ShipBob · Bethlehem, PA · 2 wk ago
$117k–$139k/yrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: headings

for sections like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. Must not repeat job title. Must not include Job ID etc. Must preserve all substantive info, remove boilerplate, navigation, legal, EEO, scam warning, duplicated lines, application instructions. Also remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. We need to parse the posting. Key sections: - Intro: "As a member of the ShipBob Team, you will..." includes bullet-like paragraphs about ownership mindset, collaboration, high-performance culture. This could be "About the role" or maybe "About the role" is appropriate. The instructions: Use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can have

About the role

with paragraphs. - Location: "Location: Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week at your home site (Aurora, IL or Bethlehem, PA), plus 30% travel to other sites (Chicago, Dallas, or Moreno Valley, CA) as needed. Must be local to either Aurora, IL or Bethlehem, PA". This is location info; could be part of "About the role" or maybe "Schedule"? Actually schedule is about work schedule; location is separate but not listed as a heading option. We could include location within About the role or maybe as a separate section like "Location" but not in allowed headings. The instruction says use those headings for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It doesn't forbid other headings? It says "Use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." Likely they expect only those headings. So we should embed location info within About the role or maybe within Responsibilities? Probably About the role. - Role Description: "The Staff Industrial Engineer – Supply Chain Operations will pave the way..." This is more about role. Could be part of About the role. - What You’ll Do: list of duties. That's Responsibilities. - What You’ll Bring To The Table: list of qualifications/requirements/skills. Could be Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. We need to decide how to split. The posting includes degree, experience, communication abilities, experience launching process automation, critical thinking, advanced knowledge of production machinery, Six Sigma Black Belt preferred, experienced in project management, knowledge of Supply Chain processes, basic CAD skills, up to 30% travel required. Also classification: Salaried, Exempt, Reports to: Staff Industrial Engineer. Also Perks & Benefits list. - Perks & Benefits: list of benefits. - Pay: "ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. We are targeting a base salary range of $116,501 - $138,752. The full salary range for this position in our compensation architecture is $116,501 - $194,169. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company’s policies." Thus we have Pay info. - Schedule: Not explicitly given besides hybrid 2 days onsite per week plus travel. That's location/schedule. Could be Schedule section: "Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week at your home site (Aurora, IL or Bethlehem, PA), plus 30% travel to other sites (Chicago, Dallas, or Moreno Valley, CA) as needed. Must be local to either Aurora, IL or Bethlehem, PA". That fits Schedule. Thus we can have sections: About the role (intro + role description), Responsibilities (What You’ll Do), Requirements (maybe degree/experience), Skills (maybe specific skills like CAD, Six Sigma, project management), Benefits (Perks & Benefits), Pay, Schedule. We must not create sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". We have real content. We must remove boilerplate: EEO, diversity statement, AI-assisted tools, etc. Also remove "About You", "About Us", "Learn more about our core values", etc. Also remove "ShipBob believes in transparency..."? That is part of Pay, we keep that. Also remove "We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience..." that's encouraging to apply; maybe that's boilerplate? It's not exactly EEO but it's generic encouragement; could be considered fluff but it's substantive? It says "If your experience is close to what you see listed here, please still consider applying." That's basically application encouragement; could be considered boilerplate. Safer to remove it. Also remove "Diversity of experience and skills combined with passion is a key to innovation and excellence; therefore, we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions." That's also encouragement; remove. Also remove "About You" and "About Us" sections. Also remove "Use of AI-Assisted Tools During Recruitment" etc. Also remove "ShipBob provides equal employment opportunities..." etc. Also remove "There is no deadline to apply for this position..." etc. Also remove navigation links like "See Our High-Performing Culture >>> Check us out on Instagram (@lifeatshipbob)" and the URLs. Also remove "Classification: Salaried, Exempt Reports to: Staff Industrial Engineer" maybe we can include in Requirements or About the role? It's metadata; maybe we can include in About the role as a short paragraph. But instruction says do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short

or drop it. So we can include classification in a short p. Now produce HTML. Structure:

About the role

As a member of the ShipBob Team, you will grow with an ownership mindset: we champion continuous learning and innovation. You'll take on real problems, create tangible solutions, and drive results that move the needle for ShipBob, our merchants, and for your own professional growth. If you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career, this is the place. Collaborate with peers and leaders alike: at ShipBob, leaders are accessible; feedback flows in both directions, and everyone, regardless of their seniority or role, steps up to help when needed. We hold each other to high standards because we trust each other to meet them. That combination of transparency and mutual respect is what makes the work here feel worth doing. Experience a high-performance culture and clear purpose: we are results-driven and clear about what that means: our goals are specific, accountability is shared, and every team member can see how their work connects to our mission. When we hit milestones, we celebrate them together. When we fall short, we learn and move forward. The Staff Industrial Engineer – Supply Chain Operations will pave the way for future supply chain flows within our facilities. This role will develop product flows to optimize for exceptional merchant experience and high efficiency. The role will operate with autonomy and identify process improvements across the warehouse network. Solid lean/six sigma and continuous improvement experience will accelerate ShipBob’s growth, and the Staff Industrial Engineer – Supply Chain Operations will guide this by developing new programs and providing training/guidance to eliminate waste in our processes. This role reports to the IE, Supply Chain Operations, who also serves as the backup for this role. Classification: Salaried, Exempt. Reports to: Staff Industrial Engineer.

But we might split classification into its own short p after the paragraph. Better: keep classification separate short p. Now Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current supply chain practices and identify those needing improvement.
  • Enforce quality control to reduce waste.
  • Improve the efficiency of fulfillment and transportation processes.
  • Evaluate employees’ tasks and responsibilities, identifying procedures or tools to improve productivity.
  • Investigate, evaluate, develop project estimates, financial proposals, and manage a variety of operational projects.
  • Facilitate and manage corrective and preventative action teams resulting from customer complaints, internal quality problems, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to operations by spending time on the floor learning processes, troubleshooting, and guiding and/or participating on multiple process improvement teams.
  • Develop CAD drawings, process flow charts, cost saving analysis.
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams on new processes and equipment planning.
  • Deliver variation reductions utilizing Process Control methodology.
  • Define and document Standard Operating Procedures for new and modified processes.
  • Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent successful attainment of process improvement project goals.
  • Manage process data collection and analysis as part of project tracking and completion.
  • Establishing and tracking key operational metrics.
  • Follow Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management best practices and procedures.
  • Comply to all food safety and compliance policies and regulations.
Now Requirements (maybe degree/experience). Could combine with Skills but we have separate.

Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Industrial Engineering.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Experience launching process automation to optimize efficiency.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt and knowledge of lean and continuous improvement concepts and processes preferred.
  • Experienced in project management.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes and procedures.
  • Basic 2D/3D CAD software skills.
Now Skills? Could be overlapping; maybe we treat the above as Qualifications and then Skills separate for things like CAD, Six Sigma, etc. But we already included those. To avoid duplication, we could make Requirements cover degree/experience, and Skills cover technical abilities. Let's split: Requirements: degree, years experience, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving. Skills: experience launching process automation, advanced knowledge of production machinery, Six Sigma Black Belt preferred, project management, supply chain knowledge, CAD skills. But we need to ensure we don't lose any info. Let's decide:
