About the role

Verdantas is seeking a Staff Hydrogeologist I for our Toledo, Ohio, office. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of sustainable solutions in environmental consulting and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out field investigations to collect environmental samples, oversee drilling operations, install groundwater monitoring wells, and gather groundwater-related data
  • Oversee soil vapor investigations
  • Analyze basic hydrogeological data using various techniques
  • Prepare detailed reports and maps to present findings and recommendations
  • Maintain and monitor groundwater levels and quality, assessing the impact of human activities on groundwater resources
  • Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and other professionals on multidisciplinary projects
  • Avoid non-compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards
  • Provide technical support for groundwater remediation and water resource management projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Knowledge of groundwater and soil vapor principles and environmental regulations
  • Ability to use field equipment and interpret basic hydrogeologic data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaboration
  • Generally work in both office and field settings
  • May require frequent travel to various field sites
  • May involve exposure to varying weather conditions and rough terrain
  • May involve occasional lifting of equipment and materials

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS software
  • Experience with hydrogeological modeling
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
