Staff Hydrogeologist
About the role
John Shomaker & Associates, Inc. (JSAI), a Geo-Logic Associates company, seeks a Staff Hydrogeologist to join our team. Projects include water planning, environmental, surface water investigations, groundwater flow models, well site construction and management services, data collection, pumping tests, sampling, and more.
Responsibilities
- Collection of field data related to well drilling, completion, development, and testing
- Collection of field data related to water sampling and monitoring projects
- Aid in hydrogeologic analysis of data using analytical methods, numerical models, and other methods
- Aid in field work related to environmental projects
- Geologic mapping and locating hydrologic features
- Development and maintenance of databases
- Aid in generation of technical reports
- Perform other duties as required or as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a water resource-related field with 0 to 3 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status and valid driver’s license
- Ability to work with all JSAI personnel and clients to accomplish project goals
- Ability to work in the field in various locations in and outside of Albuquerque
- Basic understanding of the construction industry and ability to use hand tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word)
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs
- Strong ability to multitask
- Friendly and upbeat demeanor
