Staff Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

SOCOTEC is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to conduct geotechnical investigations and analysis, including:

• Performing boring layout for utility clearance
• Supervising drill rigs
• Classifying soils, logging borings, test pits, and cores
• Performing floor level surveys
• Conducting testing and observation services
• Reviewing plans and specifications
• Preparing geotechnical reports and letters

Senior Staff Geotechnical Engineers will also handle assignment and compilation of laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations, including slope stability analysis, liquefaction, dynamic settlement, and pile design.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Geological Engineering
• 2+ years of experience, preferably with a geotechnical consulting firm
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering
