Staff Geologist

About the role

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Reno, NV. This role offers a blend of field (25-40%) and office-based work, providing hands-on experience with support for mentorship and professional growth. You’ll collaborate with engineers, project/program managers, and technical experts on a variety of impactful projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers (PMs) in planning and executing baseline surveys, permitting, data evaluations, regulatory compliance, environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines, hydrologists, and geologists on relevant project work.
• Participate in all aspects of permitting, site investigation, and remediation projects.
• Communicate and work closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Perform fieldwork which may include drilling oversight for soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, or subcontractor oversight.
• Assist with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memorandums.
• Conduct project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.).
• Prepare periodic status/program reports.
• Analyze and interpret field data.
• Utilize basic software skills such as Leapfrog, and ArcGIS.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science, physical science)
• 5 years of experience

Pay

The salary range for this position is $68,400-102,600. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

Schedule

Actual hours and schedule will vary based on project needs and may include both office and field work.
