Staff Frontend Engineer

About the role

A client is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer with 4+ years of experience to own the entire front end of their AI-powered design product. You'll join a small, elite team building creative intelligence tools that make AI genuinely good at design—something no one else has cracked yet. This is a full-time, on-site position in San Francisco, CA. Pay range can be increased for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities

• Own and build the front end of the product end-to-end, shipping pixel-perfect, performant UI.
• Design and implement complex frontend systems.
• Drive technical decisions autonomously in a fast-moving, small startup environment, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the browser with deep DOM and rendering expertise.
• Collaborate closely with the design engineer and founders to craft a beautiful, high-quality product.

Requirements

• 4-10 years of experience in frontend engineering.
• Ability to autonomously design and implement systems end-to-end without direction.
• Bachelor’s in CS or a related field.
• Expert-level React and Next.js skills.
• Deep DOM/browser internals knowledge.
