Staff FPGA Systems Development Engineer

About the role

The Aerospace, Defense and Communication (ADEF & COM) business unit is seeking a motivated Senior FPGA System Development Engineer. The FPGA Team develops and deploys high-quality FPGA and SoC solutions for internal and external customers, enabling evaluation and testing of ultra-wideband products for applications such as electronic test equipment, wideband communication systems, and aerospace & defense subsystems. This role requires an energetic individual with strong communication, organizational, and technical skills to work in a diverse, globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement SoC FPGA programs using HDL, IP, and embedded software
• Constrain FPGA designs and perform timing analysis
• Perform FPGA design verification using behavioral models
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems on FPGA designs and hardware
• Participate in design reviews, create documentation, present information, and produce demonstrations
• Support the evaluation and test of new products in the lab and on ATE
• Work in a cross-functional team environment with digital design engineers, product/test engineers, and applications/marketing engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical and/or computer engineering
• Good experience with FPGA and/or SoC programming
• Motivated and creative problem solver with strong writing, presentation, coordination, and communication skills
• Bias for action and ability to collaborate to deliver high-quality results
• Vision to work with leading-edge technology and push it forward
• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and set priorities for the team to deliver on schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• FPGA and/or SoC experience with high-speed signaling, electronics design, and embedded software
• Experience with Intel-Altera and/or AMD-Xilinx devices and tools, especially Gigabit Transceivers and high-speed memory
• Experience with RTL HW programming and digital design
• Experience with C/C++, Python, and TCL and software design
• Demonstrated leadership and coordination of teams or team members

Pay

The expected wage range for this position is $124,721 to $180,602. Actual wage offered may vary based on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus.
