Staff Fellow - Medicine, Cardiovascular Advanced Imaging
Overview
The University of Miami, UHealth is pleased to offer a one-year non-ACGME fellowship in Cardiovascular Advanced Imaging. This specialized training program is designed for physicians who are looking to deepen their expertise in cardiovascular imaging techniques, with a particular focus on advanced imaging modalities used for the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases.
Objectives
The Cardiovascular Advanced Imaging Fellowship at UHealth aims to provide advanced training in the clinical and technical aspects of cardiovascular imaging. Fellows will gain experience in interpreting and performing imaging studies to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making for complex cardiovascular patients.
Responsibilities
Participate in daily clinical practice with a multidisciplinary team, interpreting advanced cardiovascular imaging modalities including cardiac CT, MRI, echocardiography, and nuclear imaging.
Obtain expertise in advanced techniques such as myocardial perfusion imaging, coronary artery imaging, cardiac function evaluation, and tissue characterization using state-of-the-art imaging modalities.
Engage in clinical and translational research projects related to cardiovascular imaging. Fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on ongoing studies and contribute to publications in high-impact journals.
Work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and other specialists to develop integrated treatment strategies for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
Participate in didactic teaching sessions, case discussions, and regular departmental conferences. Fellows will also be encouraged to present at local and national meetings.
Gain experience in quality assurance processes and protocol development to ensure accurate imaging results and effective clinical utilization.
Qualifications
Education: MD or equivalent degree. Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Radiology, or other relevant specialty.
Experience: Previous experience in cardiovascular imaging is highly preferred, though motivated applicants with strong backgrounds in cardiology or radiology will be considered.
Licensure: Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Florida.
Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Research Interest: Interest in cardiovascular imaging research and its clinical applications.
