About the role

Diagnose and develop repair/restoration solutions for the built environment. This includes all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure. Projects range from property condition assessments to detailed evaluations of structural systems, roofs, facades, plaza deck and below grade waterproofing systems, MEP systems, pavements, industrial floors, and construction materials. Assessment techniques include visual examination, non-destructive testing, instrumentation and load testing, laboratory testing, and destructive examinations. Client deliverables range from reports of findings and recommendations to development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates assessments, inspections and testing of property, buildings and roofs.
• Drafts reports and other client deliverables under the direction of more senior consultants.
• Makes recommendations, adaptations and modifications for review and consideration by senior consultants.
• Participates on projects of greater complexity within more detailed portfolios.
• Performs or oversees contract administration for small-to-large projects.
• Follows safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
• Participates in pre-task planning.
• Reports any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Maintains quality standards on all projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in building science or related building field and 5-7 years’ experience in facility assessment. Or, in lieu of a degree, 9-11 years’ related experience. A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Qualifications

• Registered Roof Consultant (RRC)
• Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC)
• Equivalent certification
