About the role
The EV Facility Manager supports EVgo—the EV charging operator. This 16,000 square foot space located in El Segundo, California, is EVgo’s Corporate Headquarters and Laboratory. The Facility Manager is a newly created position that will support a daily workforce comprised of engineers, technicians, and professional staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations in our industrial spaces consisting of office, production, manufacturing, and test support.
- Project manages capital improvement projects from pre-construction, budgeting, execution, to customer handover, you own it end to end.
- Collaborate with equipment owners on future equipment moves and planning that is inclusive of the space, ensuring the utilities are in place and the workflow is efficient for all.
- Develop and maintain facilities, SOPs, safety reports, and documentation.
- Maintain fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, water tanks, emergency generators, and other general mechanical and infrastructure repairs that support our spaces.
- Assist the Office Administrator as required to ensure our facilities operate seamlessly.
- Promote positive company culture by working with the senior leadership to create a can-do, customer focused working environment and present a professional image.
- A self-starter who can take initiative and drive results without oversite.
- Lead and manage Maintenance, Sanitation, Safety, and Housekeeping teams across the facility.
- Own preventive maintenance and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems.
- Partner closely with program leadership and administration to align facilities with operational needs.
- Maintain maintenance logs, vendor documentation, compliance records, and equipment inventory.
- Ensure compliance with ADA, OSHA, fire/life safety, and building regulations.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material-handling equipment to move EV chargers and electrical components.
- Support onsite and offsite personnel by staging equipment, setting up test bays, preparing hardware for evaluation, performance screening and/or mass deployment.
- Maintain warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, and proper storage of EV charging equipment and tools.
- Assist in basic maintenance of facility equipment and report and issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and high-voltage safety protocols, complete safety logs and facility-related equipment inspections.
- Cook up facility consumables including PPE, cleaning supplies, and packaging materials.
- Work under the direction of hardware, operations and software engineering teams during testing, facility improvements, or field prep.
- Back up Office Administrator as needed and cover front office during breaks.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Desired Skills:
- OSHA Forklift certified.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and work in a hands-on industrial environment.
- Experience working with engineers, technicians, or professional technical teams.
- Strong organizational skills and familiarity with basic inventory systems.
- Experience in vendor management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Calm under pressure: able to manage competing priorities and urgent issues.
- Comfortable with work order systems, email, and project tracking tools.
- Experience in EV charging, automotive, electrical equipment, or light manufacturing.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Knowledge of high-voltage safety, PPE requirements, or lockout/tagout practices.
- Experience supporting engineering test environments or prototype builds.
- NFPA 70 Training.
- Cal/OSHA 10 Hour Certified Electrician.
- Experience Working Hours: 7/8 am-4/5 pm.
