About the role

The selected engineer will lead an interdisciplinary team on key efforts to develop novel Electronic Warfare subsystems on developmental NGAS programs. The successful engineer will contribute to the overall development of HW/SW subsystems, including developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support
  • Lead and support technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teams
  • Guiding the team through development/implementation activities
  • Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Performing risk analysis, developing mitigation plans, and tracking to closure
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  • Develop supplier documentation such as procurement specifications, and review artifacts from the supplier’s development effort
  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Support development and integration of HW/SW subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
  • Performing functional and performance analyses
  • Conducting detailed trade studies
  • Analyses and estimate performance of components, subsystems, and systems in accordance with governmental and commercial standards
  • Configure, test, document and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare, Electronic Support, and multifunction subsystems
  • Experience in RF/EW applications, including developing and applying models in Matlab, Python, and/or C/C++, along with experience in tracking and algorithm development
  • Familiarity with 1 or more RF sensing modalities and their applications
  • Experience in decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level
  • Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Experience in supplier/subcontract management
  • Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals
  • Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation

Qualifications

  • An active U.S. Government issued Top Secret SCI Security Clearance as well as Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently and work in a self-directed manner
  • Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing EW or Radar subsystems for airborne platforms
  • Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
  • Experience with generating and managing requirements in DOORs
  • Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
  • Understand NGAS Sector Engineering procedures
  • Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $168,200.00 - $292,100.00
