About the role

Digital Farming Solutions at Bayer seeks a Staff Mobile Engineer to join one of our regional dynamic Product delivery teams working in cloud-based distributed environments. You will have the opportunity to work with large, "big data" sets such as scientific data, machine-generated data from our farmers' equipment, geospatial data, precision agriculture, remote sensing, weather, and soil data. We are revolutionizing the agriculture industry by helping the world's farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineers, Data Analysts, Product Managers, and User Experience experts to craft an experience that will impact the face of farming.
  • Engage with your team to provide technical designs and estimates for solutions to deliver the outcomes on the roadmap.
  • Guide the architecture of the application, working with all the engineering teams involved in the business unit.
  • Work with an open, inclusive team of engineers who are committed to continuous improvement and quality.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Be a key part of defining and implementing standards and best practices for all our mobile teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience building mobile applications with a cross-platform tool (Kotlin Multiplatform or React Native).
  • Experience developing apps for iOS and Android platforms (Swift and Kotlin languages).
  • Deep knowledge of architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC).
  • Experience with releasing applications in the app stores.
  • Experience with git or other distributed version control systems.
  • Experience with testing and automation tools.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Experience with C++.
  • Experience with integrating with GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with leading without authority.
  • Knowledge of secure mobile development principles.
  • Experience working with Product and Design to ship ground-breaking features.
  • Champion of mobile standards, accessibility.

Pay

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $130k-180k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive program.
