Staff Engineer, Electrical Design
About the role
The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design (Electrical) develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. This includes researching system ideas, drawing up plans, testing, simulating, validating, and qualifying systems. The role requires leading the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains, participating in project planning and scheduling, providing technical leadership, and negotiating customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains
- Participate in project planning and scheduling
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers
- Review, interpret and may negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback
- Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts
- Proactively promote industry best practices
- Manage relationships with key vendors/partners
- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs
- Create designs in line with Celestica's procedures, regulations and customer standards
- Solve complex problems
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams
- Recommend system modifications
Requirements
7 to 10 years of experience in a similar role or industry. Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications

Skills
Knowledge of electrical systems, circuit design, and simulation software. Ability to lead cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, and promote industry best practices.

Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required.
