Staff Engineer 1 - Roadway Design

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of roadway infrastructure including alignments, grading, drainage, and traffic control
• Prepare engineering drawings, reports, specifications, and cost estimates
• Support senior engineers in meeting project goals and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal standards
• Perform drainage modeling, traffic control planning, and design documentation
• Support construction activities with site visits to collect field data
• Use CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation) to prepare and revise design plans
• Help review contractor submittals, RFIs, and support construction administration tasks
• Cover coordination with internal teams, municipalities, and regulatory agencies during design and permitting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Passed your FE Exam and obtained your EIT certification, or planning to within the next 6 months
• Strong interest in roadway and transportation design
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
• Basic knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, or state DOT standards
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and take initiative in a team environment
• Preferred Requirements: Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering, experience or coursework related to corridor modeling in Civil 3D, exposure to fieldwork, understanding of common project delivery methods, interest in obtaining a PE license and engaging in professional development

• Pay Range: USD $68,022.00 - USD $89,279.00 /Yr.
