Staff Electronics Engineer - Hardware Integration Technical Lead

About the role
Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Staff Electronics Engineer – Hardware Integration Technical Lead in Melbourne, FL. This on-site position supports program and business needs with no hybrid or remote work available.
The Hardware Integration Technical Lead serves as the program’s technical representative for suppliers, managing hardware and software solutions, evaluating technical trade-offs, and leading requirements analysis, risk management, and supplier oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of weapons systems, including definition, design, integration, test, and certification of SMS and S&RE.
- Develop system requirements, statements of work, specifications, and interface control documents; prepare, monitor, and update program schedules.
- Conduct and participate in design reviews; provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Develop technical requirements for the Supplier Management Team (SMT) and ensure suppliers meet program requirements.
- Provide technical analysis and fact-finding support for supplier proposals.
- Review supplier documentation (e.g., technical evaluations, acceptance test procedures, cost/schedule reports, software version descriptions).
- Contribute to the subcontract technical procurement package, including statements of work and technical product/performance documentation.
- Manage and review the supplier’s technical baseline; collaborate with supplier engineering staff.
- Review and accept supplier reports and technical data; direct day-to-day technical issues.
- Collaborate with SMT Lead and program leadership to identify and evaluate entry/exit criteria for design/maturity reviews.
- Develop Return to Green Plans to address supplier technical performance issues.
- Monitor, evaluate, and provide quarterly Supplier Performance Feedback using the Supplier Assessment Management System (SAMS).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 12 years of related experience, OR a Master’s degree and 10 years of related experience, with a minimum of 8 years as an Engineering Lead.
- Experience in engineering, project management, program management, or capture efforts, including design, procurement, hardware fabrication, installation, integration, and test execution.
- Experience as an Integrated Team Lead, Capture Lead, Project Lead, or Cost Account Manager with responsibility for meeting technical, contractual, and performance requirements.
- Experience with program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management.
- Experience with requirements development/flow down, supplier statement of work generation, technical data package deliverables, and proposal development.
- Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS clearance and Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
- Integration, manufacturing support, and/or flight test experience.
- Experience managing suppliers with scope over $100M as part of a government/DOD contract.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills in independent and team environments.
- Ability to build customer relationships and communicate solutions effectively.
Pay
Primary salary range: $152,900 – $229,300. Base salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, annual performance-based bonuses, and long-term incentives (for Vice President or Director positions).
