About the role

This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall development of communications subsystems, including developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze network architectures and topologies for distributed communication applications
  • Conduct trade studies for communications subsystem architectures
  • Interaction with Comms suppliers for integration of communications systems into the lab
  • Lead development and integration of communications subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
  • Performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure
  • Developing and maintaining supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, statements of work and Interface Control Documents
  • Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
  • Support technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 10 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Experience with the Analysis of communications Information Exchange Requirements (IERs) in one of the following areas: TX/RX of Military BLOS, Military LOS, CNS/ATM, and other FAA compliant messaging
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently and work in a self-directed manner
  • Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review
  • Supplier/subcontract management
  • Developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company

Benefits

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

Travel: Yes, 25% of the Time
