Staff Development Coordinator RN - Ely Manor

Responsibilities

• Affirms the competencies and training of nursing care provided by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified/State Tested Nursing Assistants.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work.
• Prepares work assignment sheets, considering Resident safety, the educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and ability of the persons to whom the assignments are made.
• Makes phone calls and finds replacements or absent staff.
• Transfers employees among units as needed.
• Prepares performance evaluations with the understanding that such evaluations impact tenure of probationary employees and wage increases of non-probationary employees.
• Disciplines employees up to and including discharge.
• Adequately supervises assigned staff and assures that those staff are supervising employees assigned to them.
• Approves the correction of errors in timecards or other timekeeping records.
• Receives and resolves employee complaints.
• Determines rotation of employees within the facility.
• Maintains job performance of employees using independent judgment and discretion on behalf of the organization.

Requirements

• A registered nurse with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
• Prior experience in staff development, education, or leadership preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state requirements, and long-term care standards.

Qualifications

• Current state license to practice as a registered nurse.
• CPR certification or within 90 days of enrollment.
