Staff Designer, Rapid Prototyping

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Designer, Rapid Prototyping to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will sit at the intersection of design, front-end engineering, and AI-enabled product exploration, turning early concepts into tangible experiences that can be tested quickly. You will help shape interaction patterns, evaluate workflow clarity, and bring practical structure to ambiguous ideas in a fast-moving product environment. The position partners closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to influence direction while contributing directly to production-quality code when needed. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $155,000 – $175,000 annually Responsibilities Build prototypes and product experiments directly in the codebase Translate vague product ideas and user workflows into intuitive experiences Define interaction patterns for AI functionalities such as chat and automation Use AI tools to accelerate prototyping while maintaining quality and usability Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to refine product direction Contribute production-quality front-end code as needed Assess prototypes for potential discarding, refinement, or production Qualifications 10+ years in design engineering, front-end engineering, UX engineering, or product design with impactful leadership experience Proficient in modern JavaScript or TypeScript and component-based frameworks for direct codebase contribution Strong abilities in product and interaction design, focusing on usability and accessibility Experience with AI-enabled product features, emphasizing user trust and workflow clarity Ability to translate vague product ideas into practical workflows and prototypes with balanced risk assessment Proven technical leadership through mentoring and reusable design patterns Understanding of AI, privacy, and security regulations affecting product experience Benefits Fully remote work with flexible scheduling Company-provided laptop for your convenience Annual bonus program and remote work stipend Expense reimbursement for professional development and access to learning platforms 24 days of paid time off, in addition to additional paid leave and wellbeing initiatives Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
