Staff Product Designer

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Product Designer to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will shape the future of search and discovery experiences for a platform that helps small businesses grow and succeed. You will lead end-to-end product design work, from early discovery through production, while partnering closely with engineering, product, and data teams. The position also calls for strong design leadership, with an emphasis on vision, storytelling, and evolving scalable design systems. Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision for search and discovery experiences across the platform
• Lead end-to-end design work from discovery through production
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams on new design paradigms
• Communicate design vision through compelling storytelling to inspire collaboration
• Advance the design system by refining patterns and visual language
• Prototype new ideas using modern tools to drive innovation
• Mentor junior designers and share craft and storytelling methods

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing complex digital products
• Deep expertise in interaction design, visual craft, and systems thinking
• Proven ability to lead design vision and influence strategy through storytelling
• Strong connection between design direction and business and customer outcomes
• Comfort with new tools and workflows for prototyping and AI design
• A portfolio showcasing strong craft and impactful product thinking
• Experience evolving large-scale design systems

Pay

Compensation: $216,000 – $297,000 annually
